Network Design for Capacity Development of Great Barrier Reef Traditional Owners

2023 – ongoing: Day Four Projects are supporting the development and implementation of engagement approaches for understanding the deeply complex work of reef restoration and the critical role of Traditional Owners (over 30 different groups) who have cared for Sea Country for thousands of years.

This work includes facilitating debate and conversation between government agencies (including biosecurity, marine parks, border protection), private sector stakeholders (including farming, and tourism), and Traditional Owners in Far North Queensland who live and work on their own Sea Country to consider ways to safely and effectively restoring the reef, through networked approaches. Our role is to provide safe and welcoming spaces that allow for diverse opinions and perspectives to be shared, and new directions for collaboration to be charted.
