2023: The Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System (the Royal Commission) recommended the establishment of the Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing (the Collaborative Centre) to meet a gap in translational research into treatment, care, and support in mental health.
We worked with members of the Collaborative Centre to design a principle-led approach to collaboration, including with lived and living experience. We worked to support the Collaborative Centre in establishing foundational elements for its partnering work, including models of partnership, principles of practice, and governance and decision making. This work involved a review and synthesis of relevant literature, key informant interviews with leading partnership practitioners, facilitation of interactive workshops with Collaborative Centre staff, and refinement of a practical plan for moving forward.
